REDC believes in supporting and conducting on-going research related to eating disorders care and actively participates in collaborative projects across members and with others across the field of eating disorders.
REDC has worked with Dr. Scott Crow (PI, The University of Minnesota) and the late Dr. Ross Crosby (Co-Investigator, the University of North Dakota) on a multi-center research study assessing course of treatment from residential admission to discharge. REDC collaborated with researchers from STRIPED, the Academy for Eating Disorders, and others on the STRIPED Report: Economic Costs of Eating Disorders and the resulting peer-reviewed publication entitled “Social and economic cost of eating disorders in the United States: Evidence to inform policy action.” Most recently, REDC collaborated with the Alliance for Eating Disorders and researcher clinicians from adolescent medicine departments across the country to better understand the availability of care options for youth across the country.
The REDC has written multiple letters of support for research grant proposals submitted by peers in academic institutions and maintains an active dialogue within the field regarding study ideas and collaboration opportunities.
