Policy

The goal of REDC policy efforts are to facilitate policy-related advocacy by REDC members in each of their states and at the Federal level on issues related to access to care for individuals with eating disorders. REDC is a proud member of the Eating Disorders Coalition for Research, Policy, and Action, supporting the EDC’s efforts to educate Congress regarding eating disorders as a public health issues and ensure access to care.

Priorities for 2019-2021 include stabilization of the Affordable Care Act, TRICARE coverage for military members and their family members affected by eating disorders, and extension of coverage for telehealth services for eating disorders care.

REDC Advocacy Toolkit
The REDC Policy Committee worked to create the Advocacy Toolkit to equip REDC members with tools for effective advocacy and will continue to refine as needed.

REDC Hill Days

The REDC provides opportunities for members to amplify thee messages on Capitol Hill by hosting annual Hill Days, often in conjunction with EDC Advocacy Day
